About us
Monte Vignol Choir was named after a peak above Avio.
A majestic and medieval castle stands out from the lush hillside of this mountain and with its walls and the fortified tower, the castle overlooks the wide valley and the underlying villages. The vineyards underneath make the view breath-taking.

The love for singing was born here, in Avio, where songs gave voice to the heart and the soul of the citizens.

The Choir foundation is dated back to 1976: some friends, passionate about typical mountain’s songs, back then very popular in gathering places, decided to make this common passion become true. They founded Monte Vignol Choir that soon became a traditional cultural symbol.

The Choir’s repertoire now includes the traditional songs of the mountain, as well as songwriter’s songs, love songs and songs from the Alpini corpse.

The Choir can count a few significant moments of its life: the organization of the mountain songs’ festival, the participation in various festivals around Trentino and in other Italian’s regions,  the audience with the Pope Benedetto XVI, many trips to Germany, Swiss, France, Croatia and the recording of two CDs for the 20th and the 30th anniversary of the foundation.

The Choir is united by a truthful friendship and a great passion for singing, and since 2011 is directed by the choirmaster Filippo Bandera.
